Recently, there has been a large amount of media coverage about an immigration bill that was before the house and senate. Many in the main stream media (such as television) have praised the bill, while many in the blogosphere, and in talk radio have blasted the bill. The bill had both Bipartisan support and opposition.
With all of the problems surrounding immigration, and the views on it, it’s no wonder that there is so much talk about it recently.

For those that are not aware, the use of a car’s horn is to warn others of emergencies on the road, especially if those emergencies might result from them not knowing your location. “Honk” generally means “I’m over here. Danger is involved!”

Hey all. I’ve finished moving into my new apartment. Well, more or less. I still have loads of unpacking to do, and there is a storage facility I’m taking up some space in that my family will be working to empty out in the near future.

As I let you all know in a previous post, I’ll be moving to my apartment over the next few days. I don’t yet have cable installed in it, and I don’t know how long it will take to get it set up, so I may be off line for several days.
I will hopefully be able to get my computer systems set up and ready for the installation, so that it won’t take any extra time past receiving the modem in the mail, and the service being turned on.

I have to admit that I haven’t been paying as much attention to my blog lately as I should have. However I do have a fairly good set of reasons. First, there is my recent birthday, and all that entails.
But I have also been apartment hunting. I recently found one, applied for it, and it is on hold for me. I will be taking possession of it later this week. It’s a 2 bedroom 1 bath, and is very reasonably priced, costing less than many 1 bedroom apartments in the area, and having more room than most 2 bedroom 2 bath apartments in the area. It has all the utilities payed except for electric (it’s an all electric building) and several amenities that were relatively hard to find in the are as well.

For those who do not know, I very recently celebrated a birthday. I received many wonderful gifts, but best of all was the fact that, despite rising gas prices, my aging Grandmother decided to come all the way out from several states away to visit me.
She warned me that she wouldn’t be able to bring me an expensive present if she came, and I told her that was perfectly fine. I just wanted to see her. I did ask, though, that if she had any paintings she had done that she had no plans for, I would really appreciate one of them.

During Weekend in Dyvers I actually managed to play a sum total of 5 games, and judge 1. I told you about the first I got to play in my post WID - Day 1. I got to play a module on day 2, 2 modules on day 3, and 1 module between days 3 and 4. Day 4 was the day I got to judge.

Today has been a long, hard, exhausting, and rewarding day at WID
Today I woke up rather early, unable to get to sleep due to excitement about the Con and hanging out with my gaming group so long. I got as much as I could done in prep for the con, then headed out. I got to Belleview quickly and early, but I find the layout of streets in the con area rather confusing and counter-intuitive as I followed the directions I was given. After asking directions, and doing a food run later, I think that I’m passingly familiar with the area now though.

Over the past 4 days I worked a 40 hour work week in order to arrange to get Friday off, and as a result have not been able to find much time to post to my blog.
The reason for this is because this weekend, in Council Bluffs Iowa, there is a major D&D convention, “Cavalier Con Presents: Weekend In Dyvers” going on, and I have agreed to help staff it. It is a four day convention, and there will be loads of RPG gaming and other fun. And for me, there will be loads of other work.
I view this as a real opportunity to help out, and also to reintegrate myself into a group that I had to abandon for a few years in order to graduate and get a decent job.
If any of my readers head to the Con, you can look me up, though I’m not sure everyone there would know me by my online nick-name.
