First 5lb Goal!
For those of you that have been paying attention, I have recently joined Weight Watchers, and while my morning weight at home was 275, I weighed in there as 280.4.
Well today I weighed in at 274.8, a loss of 5.6 lbs, and my first 5 lb goal met in the Weight Watchers program in only 2 weeks! Read on for how I did it, and how it feels!
As I related a few posts ago, I have taken up Taiji, also spelled Tai Chi. Over the past two weeks I have attended first 2 hours of classes (1 hour each Tuesday and Thursday) and then 2 more hours of classes (both on Wednesday), for a total of four hours of classes. In addition, I have the homework of practicing at least 15 minutes of Tai Chi per day. All of this combined is a total of 20 points of low level exercise per week.
Add in the walking that I did to the closer of the classes, and to the store, as well as additional practice, and I made it up to 24 points of exercise this week, up from 6 points last week. Further, I only used half of those points to gain me additional points of food to eat. In addition, Weight Watchers gives everyone 35 weekly points that they can spend on any kind of food they want, at any point in the week, and this is in addition to the daily points one gets on the flex plan. I haven’t used all of my weekly points either of the weeks that I have been doing weight watchers.
These factors combined definitely helped to accelerate my weight loss. Let me tell you it feels great. Due to getting myself more active, and making my muscles and cardiovascular system more used to my moving around, it has become easier to move about doing any task around the house or work. I feel bursting with energy, and it is so much easier to simply move! How much of this is due to the exercise and how much is due to the weight loss I am not sure, but I do know for a fact that I am far healthier than before I started this program of diet and exercise.
