She LIVES! I think.
My computer is currently installing windows, after having formatted the new partition over night. Hopefully by the time I get home from work tonight I’ll have a fully functioning (if low on software) computer. I may need to select a few more options and wait a bit longer, but it looks like my computer is on the verge of being fully installed.
As a part of the installation, I had to name my computer (pick a network name). Now for me, the Christening of a computer is a very important stage of the Install, as the entire feel of the computer, the display theme, ect, can be influenced by the PC’s name. How you treat the computer, and how others do as well may be unconsciously affected.
My new computer is housed in a used (but very nice) case that is all black, with a few silver accents, and a purplish-blue light. The components were also installed with another motherboard before I realized that one just wouldn’t do for my needs, and returned it, to get it’s current one, and it’s current video card, who’s avatar is a hot, fit, athletic cyber-aged warrior woman.
Further, my Laptop (for a variety of reasons) is named Tachikoma, from Ghost in the Shell.
All in all, there was nothing that fit the computer nearly so well as Major Kusanagi Makoto from Ghost in the Shell, and after adding a Dash to the name, it fit the 15 character maximum perfectly, so now I have a name for my computer. Kusanagi-Makoto.

[…] For those of you that don’t know, I’m one of those people that actually names his computers and other networked devices. I don’t mean that I just randomly assign names to differentiate the computers, I christen them with a name that reflects their qualities. For example, my main power-tower is named Kusanagi-Makoto. […]
